Fork Union vs North Cross
If you traveled out to see Fork Union take on North Cross Friday you might have been impressed by the Blue Devil numbers of athletes they had on the field. I counted 46 players to 21 for the home team Raiders. Coach Alexander joked afterwards, “They definitely won the warmups. They’re an impressive looking group.” Coach Alexander has a lot of respect for Fork Union having attended the school himself. Defensive Coordinator Shannon Taylor also attended the academy and went on to play at UVA and then in the NFL.
But no one keeps score in the warmups and at days end North Cross’s team came out on top this afternoon by a 50-14 mark. Stay tuned though because these two will square off again October 30th at Fork Union. That should be a Jim-dandy.
