Stone Bridge traveled the long distance from Northern Virginia down to Roanoke to take on the Patrick Henry Patriots in a state semifinal. At night’s end, the visitors walked away with a hard fought 67-66 win with a bucket in the last minute of the game. Stone Bridge shot 63% from the field combining field goals and threes. The Cavs were 8 of 11 from behind the arc. Patrick Henry, on the other hand, hit only 1 of 13 threes. The normally deft shooting Pats made up for it at the foul line with twenty trips compared to just one for Stone Bridge. The Cavaliers had a balanced attack led by G/F 13 Sam Whitehead with 15. PG 1 Dylan Hundertmark had fourteen, while G 3 Jerico Limcaoco added thirteen. PH was led by G 1 Jamonte ‘Bird’ Smith with twenty seven followed by Freshman Wing 3 Abu Yarmah with twenty. Stone Bridge will now host Green Run at home in the state finals.
