Week two is in the books and we had another good week of high school football. Although, we did have Covid 19, the virus, rear up it’s ugly head at a few of our high schools. As a precaution, Northside, Jefferson Forest, and EC Glass all either had a case of the virus or have been restricted due to potential contact. This not only affected their teams but also the teams they were about to play. Northside was scheduled to play Glenvar. Jefferson Forest and Brookville were going to square off and EC Glass and Rustburg were supposed to play at City Stadium in Lynchburg.
In our featured Roanoke Crunch game Franklin County fended off William Byrd 41-26. Our Lynchburg Crunch feature saw Heritage blank Amherst County in a better game then the score indicates. Our third Crunch contest in the NRV was a Saturday battle between Auburn and Fort Chisewell. The Pioneers won it 41-19 at Christiansburg High School. The Blue Demons turf is getting a lot of use these days as schools try to not tear up their grass fields during the spring season. (Read More)
