Regional Champions were crowned this week in some very competitive games. Salem defended it’s regional title with a 35-21 win over GW Danville. The game was notched at 14 at the half. LCA outdistanced Heritage 30-14. This was a 16-14 battle in the third quarter before the Bulldog defense stepped up and made the plays necessary to move on. In our NRV matchup, Narrows traveled the hour and a half drive (longer in a bus) and took on Galax. The Maroon scored three first half TDs and made that holdup with their defense. Narrows had only given up 8 points all year prior to that game. Also Friday night, William Fleming hung on to beat Mountain View 21-19 to move on. The Colonels denied the visitors a tying 2-point try late. This coming week Regions A vs B and C vs D will decide our Virginia state finalists. (Read More)
