Pulaski pulls away in the second half to outpace Hidden Valley 51-36
Hidden Valley High School, Roanoke, VA – Pulaski County (8-7, 5-3) traveled to Hidden Valley (5-10, 0-7) to get a 51-36 road win in a River Ridge District tilt tonight. The Cougars were led by Hannah Keefer with 18 points. Hidden Valley was led by Avery Tanis, also with 18.
The lady Cougars jumped out to a 15-6 lead on Hidden Valley in the first quarter. Pulaski owned the boards which made the difference. The Titans roared back, tightening up the score, 28-23 by the break. The Titans made that run on the shoulders of Tanis and Aubrey Pearson pushing the ball up the court and attacking the basket. Tanis accounted by 12 in the quarter. Hidden Valley swithed to a 2-3 zone which slowed the Cougars.
Pulaski stretched their lead back up to 13, 45-32 in the third quarter.
The final quarter was a defensive slugfest with the visitors outscoring HV 6-4 to make it a 51-36 final.
