Welcome to CrunchTIME radio week 2- Fall of 2024, your high school, Live radio show for central and southwest Virginia high school sports.

It’s Crunch TIME Baby!….On today’s show we are talking fall sports. We’ll have interviews with New Crunch Coaches – Mark Lineburg at Brookville, Dustin Russell at Rustburg, Steve Castello at Appomattox, and Shaun Miller at Gretna. In Volleyball, we start with Hidden Valley and All American Caleigh Ponn, Maddi Carter, and Coach Pierre Ellis. You can go find their full interviews on crunchhssports.com, and you’ll get to see the coaches and players themselves tell their story. In our second show we also talk some preseason high school football with scrimmages this week. Crunch took in Brookville @ Salem, while Jimmy caught Altavista @ Northside in Roanoke. Later this week we’ll have a few videos of the action up as well.

Also on the show today we are blessed to have this week and every week a new segment called “Just say Yetz – No Holds Barred,” with Roanoke College Wrestling Coach Nate Yetzer talking wrestling The show will be a question and answer segment brought to you by our good friends at Sportshaven. Special thanks to Robin Bennett. This week we talk about some names of wrestling moves – the Cowboy, the Fireman, the Bundle…. and what they look like.

Next week, we hope to feature our two, new Roanoke area coaches – North Cross’s Dwayne Priest, and Roanoke Catholic’s Howard Tucker. Plus we will also feature two of our ‘New to us at Crunch’ coaches – Chatham’s Bruce Devlin, and SML’s (Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy) Coach Kenis Maciel. You won’t want to miss it.
