Altavista dominates in a 64-13 win over William Campbell
William Campbell High School, Naruna, VA – The Colonels of Altavista started fast and never let their foot off the pedal in a decisive 64-13 win over William Campbell. The visitors had a number of players step up, but their leader has to be RB/LB 2 Ladainian Stone. The Senior is a someone you have to pay attention to on both sides of the ball. Altavista Head Coach Matt DeLoach is glad he’s a Colonel. “LaDainian is an absolute force. He’s highly intelligent and instinctual.” Stone scored three of Altavista’s first four touchdowns, including to subsequent 2-point conversions. When he’s not scoring you’ll find him out in front of teammates making key blocks and hustling downfield. He finished the night on offense early with 9 carries for 132 yards, 3TDs, and two 2-point conversions.
Stone didn’t do it alone though. RB/DB 1 Christian Garvin had a day (6/129,3TDs) and QB 9 Cooper Brooks (6/74,TD, 2ptr) and RB 4 Tyreimh Robinson (4/74,TD,2ptr) kicked in with scores. Sandwiched between those, RB/DB/KR 6 JaCorion Davis scored on a 76-yard punt return. RB/DE 76 Cortzez Moon but a bow on it with a 52-yard TD run late.

For Campbell’s part, their points came late. QB 3 Montevius Thompson (4/6,69,TD passing) found WR 8 Da’Tron Childress on a 10-yard TD pass, and then RB 6/20 Dre Thompson got loose on a 76-yard TD run with two minutes left in the game.
Offense was on display, but Altavista’s defense was playing second fiddle to no one. The aggressive Colonels would never let the Generals get any room too run all night long producing ten negative plays from scrimmage.
