The Glenvar defense got into the act next. WR/DB 1 Cooper Mullins picked off Gaither and took it 40 yards back to the ‘house’ for the ‘pick six,’ extending Glenvar’s lead to 14-6. Mullins added to that with a 15-yard TD catch from Dawyot making it 21-6. Just before half, the Bobcats clawed their way back into the game with their own 55-yard “pick six.” Freshmen WR/DB 7 Pace Prioleau turned the trick. A failed 2-point conversion kept the lead at eight, 21-12 Highlanders at halftime.
In the second half, the Highlanders started quick once again. This time it took them only three plays for 15 Dawyot to find WR/DB 6 Jace Forster on a 41-yard scoring pass. The Junior QB is a threat to throw it or run it on every play. That connection made it 28-12.

Give the Bobcats credit, they never gave up, but the Highlanders were too much this night. Glenvar Coach Kevin Clifford kept his team grounded after the win, “You take it one day at a time, learn to enjoy the moment and don’t look ahead. When you look ahead you trip and fall. We have a really good district and a big game Friday with Patrick County and that’s the next challenge.”
