Bulldogs Build Early Lead in 45-6 Seminole District Win over EC Glass
City Stadium, Lynchburg, VA – Liberty Christian and EC Glass battled pretty evenly for about half of the first quarter, but then then LCA got going. LCA Freshman QB 9 Tyler Jackson (7/11,153,TD,INT) got the party started for the Bulldogs with a long 67-yard pass over the middle to WR 15 Nate Davis down to the Hilltopper 2-yard line took the lid off the scoring for LCA. RB/TE/QB/LB 5 James Deyo bulled it in from there to put the visitors up 7-0.
“We’re very happy with the win against a good, very athletic team.” – LCA Coach Frank Rocco

After that, Bulldog RB/S 8 Gideon Davidson (12/148,3TDs) scored the next three consecutive drives from 9, 65, and 10 yards out. The 65-yard run was especially spectacular as Davidson looked to be stopped 3 or 4 times only to twist, and shake off defenders until he broke into the clear. It looked as if every Hilltopper had a shot at the Senior on the play.
Jackson followed up Davison’s last score with a 17-yard TD pass to WR/RB/DB 1 Jaden Cowart. That touchdown was set up on an LCA kickoff. The ball was kicked on the sidelines that looked like-but never did go out of bounds. Davis, hustling down on coverage dove on the loose pigskin. It took one play for Cowart’s TD catch to make it 35-0.

To EC Glass’ credit, Coach Jamar Lovelace’s Hilltoppers never let up. At the start of the second half, Glass took the kickoff and marched 71 yards to get on the board. Short passes from QB 7 Jahlil Holloway (9/19,149,TD,INT) began to work. WR 5 Jertavius Osborne caught the last toss for an 18-yard TD catch and run. That made it 38-7 LCA. The Bulldogs would add a RB 2 Justis Belford 2-yard TD run on the last play of the third quarter to round out the night’s points. LCA Coach Frankl Rocco was happy to get the win against an always tough EC Glass program. “We’re very happy with the win against a good, very athletic team. I don’t know that we saw this coming tonight, but we needed a game where we really started putting some things together.” – Cap’n Crunch
