The Devils outgained the Tide 339-84 in total yards, logging 13 first downs to only 5 for Galax, and scored on 5 of their first 6 drives of the game, three by RB 2 Aaron Peterson (8/116,4TDs), and two by RB 32 Benton Wagoner (5/39,2TDs). Two Tide turnovers led to the Blue Devils second and third touchdowns, giving them a short field.
Early on, down 14-0, Galax drove the ball to the Devils 6 yard line, but a fourth down pass was broken up in the end zone and that took some air out of the Tide. Behind 28-0, Galax scored on a 23-yard TD run by Freshman QB 6 Damian Heath, but the play was called back due to a block in the back. Grayson held and Galax kicked a 32-yard field goal from K 11 Yandel Vera to make it 28-3 halfway through the second quarter. Grayson County and Coach Stephen James went on to a 34-3 halftime lead.
