The show features interviews with Northside Coach Scott Fisher, Hidden Valley Athletic Director and Coach Scott Weaver and former UVA player Walt Derey. What do the three have in common. They all played for legendary retired Northside Coach Jim Hickam. They all speak about their time playing for Coach Hickam. This coming Friday night Hidden Valley and Northside meet at Hickam field and it’ll be Jim Hickam appreciation night. CrunchTIME is back, August 13, 2022 central and southwest Virginia high school football with a splash of some area volleyball. The show features our Legendary HS football coaches with Liberty-Bedford Coach Chris Watts. Coach Watts just left the Minutemen coach football in college at Davidson. We wish him well. We also have a few comments from Hidden Valley Head Coach and newly named Athletic Director Scott Weaver as well as Giles Head Man Jeff Williams. The Titans and the Spartans started off fall preseason with a Thursday scrimmage at Bogle Field in Roanoke. Also on the show today is an interview with Hidden Valley Head Volleyball Coach Carla Ponn. Coach Ponn has 503 wins under her belt as her Titans head into the 2022 season. Crunch is a high school sports media company that was established in 1995 by Carl York in Southwest Virginia. Crunch started solely as a FREE high school football print publication that focused on area high school football. The secret to Crunch is the willingness of area coaches, each week, to talk about their teams, players, and the sport that they have dedicated their lives to for the betterment of our young athletes. Today, Crunch has grown to cover 38 high schools in 15 counties in central and Southwestern Virginia with three unique weekly versions in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and the New River Valley.
