Week 20 CrunchTIME Radio Show Jan 7, 2023 1056 706 SWVA High School Sports
Crunch radio week 20 of games on CrunchTIME, your high school Live radio show for central and southwest Virginia high school football. Today’s show is our first of 2023, the second half of the 2022-23 school year. Featured today is Northside basketball Coach Bill Pope’s 600th win this week. We talk with Cave Spring after his Cave Spring Knights won their Bank of Botetourt tournament over the holidays. We also talk about Northside’s basketball team and their winning the championship in their NIT tourney, also over the holidays. Patrick Henry got a big River Ridge District OT win over Cave Spring and Lord Botetourt continued it’s winning ways in a win over William Byrd. For boys basketball, this all led up to the Chance Harmon Memorial Tourney in Floyd this weekend. We tackle the first night of that tourney as well. As far as girls basketball goes, we touch on it with a few big games but plan to talk more about the state of area girls bball right now in the area in coming shows. Carroll County continues to lead the way. Pulaski County, William Fleming, Patrick Henry, Lord Botetourt, and Cave Spring are all playing well. We also revisit the Big Orange Wrestling Tournament in Vinton from December 17th to finish out our reporting. Our last show aired before the finals there were complete. If you are a serious Virginia high school sports fan you won’t want to miss our CrunchTIME show every Saturday Morning from 10-11am Preseason and 10-Noon in Season on WPLY 101.1 FM, 610 AM in Roanoke and the NRV. In Lynchburg catch the show on 107.5 FM, 1390 AM. read more
