Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 5 of Crunch and week 3 of the high school football season. On today’s show our US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Jeff Woody, EC Glass Hilltoppers Head Coach. Coach Woody talks about last night’s 41-31 win over GW Danville, former assistant coaches who are now head coaches, and even some of the great nicknames he gives his players…In the second half of the show we are talking with Chuck Baker of Haley Toyota on our new ‘Baked In’ segment where the Bake gives us some insight of the game he was at the night before. We’ll also be talking some college football. Our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week is Coach Shirley Stewart (formerly of William Fleming). In the second hour, we do our weekly features – Jimmy Whitaker’s ‘Jimmy Thang’ segment, the “5 things you need to know about High School Football this week,” and the Crunch Great 8 Poll. Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 4 of high school football season. This week is our second 2-hour show, as we get into some college football in the second hour. High school football games started again on Thursday as well as  on the more traditional Friday, as well as Saturday, across the state. On today’s show our US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Kelly Lowe, Narrows Green Wave Head Coach. Coach Lowe talks about last year’s spring season and team and where some of 2020’s stars are now, Virginia Tech, Emory & Henry, etc…In the second half of the show we talk about Virginia Tech’s big win last night in Blacksburg at Lane Stadium over the # 10 ranked North Carolina Tarheels. Our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week is Coach Otis Tucker (retired and a former head man at Dunbar HS in Lyncburg, and as an assistant at EC Glass with Coach Bo Henson).. In the third quarter of the show, we do our weekly features – Jimmy Whitaker’s ‘Jimmy Thang’ segment, the “5 things you need to know about High School Football this week,” and the Crunch Great 8 Poll. Today, Crunch has grown to cover 38 high schools in 15 counties in central and Southwestern Virginia with three unique weekly versions in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and the New River Valley.
