Our award winning CrunchTIME Live Radio show, airs on Saturdays for two hours, 10am – Noon, on WPLY 101.1 FM/ 660 AM in Roanoke and 107.5 FM/ 1390 AM IN Lynchburg . It’s also available on Facebook Live. You’ll hear Carl York (Crunch founder), Coach Randy Leftwich (Greg Roberts Live), and Jimmy Whitaker (CrunchMVP.com) talk about the week’s matchups, big stories, individual accomplishments, and team games. We talk to coaches and players each show, and listener’s love hearing past interviews with the legendary Crunch coaches sponsored by Haley Toyota.

The CrunchTIME Radio starts in the preseason on the second Saturday in August and runs through the end of Basketball Season in March with the State Championships.

Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 3 of high school football season. This week is our first 2-hour show, as we get into some college football in the second hour. We are talking real, live high school football games as the season opened Thursday and Friday across the state. On today’s show we have a first hour and a second hour US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Stephen Alexander, North Cross Head Coach. Coach Alexander talks about last year’s special team and where some of 2020’s stars are now…hint, UVA, Navy….In the second half of the show we have Heritage Coach Brad Bradley on the line. Coach Brad helps us kick off our new, second hour talking about where some of his graduates are now playing on Saturdays. He also talks about this year’s Pioneer club.

Also on today’s show you’ll hear some pre recorded conversations with a couple hardworking coaches – Christiansburg’s Alex Wilkens, and Willam Byrd head coach, Brad Lutz. We follow that up with a highlight of a previous interview with our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week, Coach Dave Crist (retired and a former head man at Blacksburg HS)…. Let’s just say the field’s named after him, ‘nough said.

Finally, we finish off the show with our weekly features – Jimmy Whitaker’s ‘Jimmy Thang’ segment, the “5 things you need to know about High School Football this week,” and the Crunch Great 8 Poll. Let’s just say the Great 8 Poll “goes a little wanting” as last nights game produced some surprises.

Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 2 of high school football season. We are a week away from the season’s start. On today’s show our  US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Frank Rocco,  Liberty Christian Academy Head Coach. The head man takled a little about last year’s Bulldog teaam, as well as the number 1 lineman in the country, Senior Zach Rice, as well as others. Also on the show with pre recorded conversatons with three of our area’s new coaches – Auburn’s David Seabaugh, Jefferson Forest’s J.T. Crews, and Cave Spring’s new leader, Nick Leftwich. We follow that up with a highlight of a previous interview with our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week, Coach Jim Moscaro (fomerly the head man at North Cross in Roanoke).

Finally, we finish off the show with our weekly features – Jimmy Whitaker’s ‘Jimmy Thang’ segment, the “5 things you need to know about High School Football this week,” and the Crunch Great 8 Poll. It’s hard to rate teams without any of them having played a down yet, but we try.

CrunchTIME August 14 show featured live interview with Salem Coach Don Holter on the US Cellular-Crunch Hotline. New Coaches to their respective teams, were also previouslly interviews – Michael Crist, Head Football Coach at Radford, and Burt Torrence, Head Football Coach at Rustburg. The Haley Toyota, Coaching Legend’s of the game, featured former Brookville Coach, Bobby Johnson.
This CrunchTIME show also talked about several of the most sought after football players in SW Va by colleges – Zach Rice of LCA, Gunner Givens of Lord Botetourt, and Carroll County’s Ben Gosnell.
