On today’s show our US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Jeff Woody, EC Glass Hilltoppers Head Coach. Coach Woody talks about last night’s 41-31 win over GW Danville, former assistant coaches who are now head coaches, and even some of the great nicknames he gives his players…In the second half of the show we are talking with Chuck Baker of Haley Toyota on our new ‘Baked In’ segment where the Bake gives us some insight of the game he was at the night before. Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 4 of high school football season. This week is our second 2-hour show, as we get into some college football in the second hour. High school football games started again on Thursday as well as  on the more traditional Friday, as well as Saturday, across the state. On today’s show our US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Kelly Lowe, Narrows Green Wave Head Coach. Coach Lowe talks about last year’s spring season and team and where some of 2020’s stars are now, Virginia Tech, Emory & Henry, etc…In the second half of the show we talk about Virginia Tech’s big win last night in Blacksburg at Lane Stadium over the # 10 ranked North Carolina Tarheels. Our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week is Coach Otis Tucker (retired and a former head man at Dunbar HS in Lyncburg, and as an assistant at EC Glass with Coach Bo Henson).. Welcome to CrunchTIME Radio (WPLY AM/FM), week 3 of high school football season. This week is our first 2-hour show, as we get into some college football in the second hour. We are talking real, live high school football games as the season opened Thursday and Friday across the state. On today’s show we have a first hour and a second hour US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Stephen Alexander, North Cross Head Coach. Coach Alexander talks about last year’s special team and where some of 2020’s stars are now…hint, UVA, Navy….In the second half of the show we have Heritage Coach Brad Bradley on the line. Coach Brad helps us kick off our new, second hour talking about where some of his graduates are now playing on Saturdays. He also talks about this year’s Pioneer club. Also on today’s show you’ll hear some pre recorded conversations with a couple hardworking coaches – Christiansburg’s Alex Wilkens, and Willam Byrd head coach, Brad Lutz. We follow that up with a highlight of a previous interview with our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week, Coach Dave Crist (retired and a former head man at Blacksburg HS)…. Let’s just say the field’s named after him, ‘nough said. On today’s show our  US Cellular-Crunch Hotline guest is Coach Frank Rocco,  Liberty Christian Academy Head Coach. The head man takled a little about last year’s Bulldog teaam, as well as the number 1 lineman in the country, Senior Zach Rice, as well as others. Also on the show with pre recorded conversatons with three of our area’s new coaches – Auburn’s David Seabaugh, Jefferson Forest’s J.T. Crews, and Cave Spring’s new leader, Nick Leftwich. We follow that up with a highlight of a previous interview with our Haley Toyota ‘Legends of the Game’ this week, Coach Jim Moscaro (fomerly the head man at North Cross in Roanoke). Finally, we finish off the show with our weekly features – Jimmy Whitaker’s ‘Jimmy Thang’ segment, the “5 things you need to know about High School Football this week,” and the Crunch Great 8 Poll. Today, Crunch has grown to cover 38 high schools in 15 counties in central and Southwestern Virginia with three unique weekly versions in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and the New River Valley.
